Porsche is set to defend its titles as the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season begins with the Qatar 1812 km on February 28 at the Lusail International Circuit. Last year, Porsche Penske Motorsport secured a dominant 1-2-3 finish in Qatar, setting the stage for its drivers’ world championship victory.
For 2025, Porsche’s Hypercar lineup includes the No. 5 Porsche 963 (Andlauer, Christensen, Jaminet) and the No. 6 car (Estre, Vanthoor, Campbell), alongside Proton Competition’s No. 99 entry (Jani, Pino, Varrone). Porsche is determined to fight for the manufacturers’ title, aiming to build on its Daytona 24 Hours victory earlier this year.
In the LMGT3 category, reigning champions Manthey 1st Phorm (Lietz, Hardwick, Pera) and Iron Dames (Frey, Gatting, Martin) will compete in the Porsche 911 GT3 R.
The Qatar Prologue on February 21-22 will offer teams a final chance to prepare before the season-opening 10-hour race. With 18 Hypercars from eight manufacturers on the grid, Porsche faces a fiercely competitive season ahead.
