Aston Martin THOR Team has completed an extensive development test of the Valkyrie Hypercar at Silverstone’s Grand Prix circuit, ahead of the FIA World Endurance Championship’s return to the venue in 2027.

Factory drivers Ross Gunn and Harry Tincknell shared driving duties in a development-specification Valkyrie, as the team evaluated several technical upgrades and explored future performance improvements.

The Valkyrie, powered by a modified 6.5-litre V12, has already shown strong progress in its first two seasons of endurance racing. It is currently the only WEC/IMSA top-class car derived from a road-legal hypercar.

Aston Martin says the Silverstone test generated valuable data on both the car and Michelin tyre performance, while helping prepare the team for the 6 Hours of Silverstone on 23–25 April 2027.

With further development now underway, Aston Martin believes the test marks the beginning of an exciting new phase for its Valkyrie Hypercar programme.
