Mahindra & Mahindra have launched a cheaper ‘sub-4 meter’ version of the Bolero, called the ‘Power+’. Dimensions remain the same as the regular Bolero, but the Power + is shorter by 112mm.
Externally, the Bolero Power+ gets revised bumpers, front and rear. Under the bonnet, it gets a smaller 1.5-litre mHawkD70, 3-cylinder engine that makes 71hp and 195Nm of torque, with power being sent via a 5-speed manual gearbox. At 16.5kpl, the Power+ is slightly more frugal than its larger-engined sibling.
The cabin remains the same, with all three rows intact for 7 occupants. You get a whole bunch of features like Bluetooth/USB/AUX/CD, Mahindra’s micro hybrid system, body-coloured wing mirrors, and a 1-lakh kilometer warranty.
The Power+ can be yours for 6.59 lakh rupees – and with the already tried-and-tested standard Balero that continues to tread on Indian tarmac, the new model will only further up its game.
