BMW India has launched the first-ever BMW i5 Long Wheelbase (LWB), its first locally produced electric sedan in India. Priced from ₹79.60 lakh (ex-showroom), the i5 LWB combines a spacious rear cabin with a large 81.6kWh battery offering a claimed range of up to 669km (MIDC).
Powered by a 268hp electric motor and 410Nm of torque, the i5 eDrive35L can accelerate from 0–100km/h in 6.7 seconds and supports up to 160kW DC fast charging, taking the battery from 10–80% in around 33 minutes.
BMW has also introduced a limited First Edition, restricted to just 99 units, which sold out even before the official launch. The model features rear-seat entertainment, panoramic glass roof, adaptive rear-axle air suspension and a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system.
