BMW had showcased its entry-level motorcycle – the G 310 R – at the Delhi Auto Expo. Its compact and well-proportioned, and gets a beautifully angled frame overall, with chiseled bits here and there that give it a sporty and masculine look. The up-sweeping tail section, with its well-designed seat round off the bike’s sex appeal.
Nestled neatly into its frame is a liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine will make 33.6bhp and will go on to reach a top speed of 145kph. It features a tubular-steel frame and an alloy swing-arm at the rear. Up-front, you get telescopic forks and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. ABS comes as standard, and you also get radial-mounted discs bolted onto 17-inch wheels.
With its sharp and appealing looks, the G 310 R is certainly going to have BMW smiling, even if priced a bit high. Contenders like the Ninja 300, Duke 390 and the recent R3 will definitely have to be worried.
