The new Porsche 911 GT3 with a six-speed manual transmission has set a blistering lap time of 6:56.294 minutes on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, becoming the fastest production car with a manual gearbox on the legendary 20.8 km circuit.

Driven by Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister, the GT3 with the Weissach package outpaced its predecessor (with PDK) by 3.6 seconds, and beat the previous manual lap record—held by a more powerful rival—by over 9.5 seconds.

Despite unchanged engine output of 375 kW (510 hp), improvements to the chassis, gear ratios, and suspension inspired greater stability and sharper cornering. Fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tyres, the GT3 delivered peak performance without the aid of a dual-clutch transmission.

“The car is more confidence-inspiring at the limit than ever before,” said Bergmeister. “It’s proof that pure driving pleasure and top-tier performance still go hand in hand.”

Porsche’s lap was conducted under notarial supervision, further solidifying the achievement in the increasingly competitive world of performance records.
