Maserati honors the 20th anniversary of its triumphant return to racing with the introduction of two special series: the MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda. These models commemorate the iconic MC12, which marked Maserati’s comeback to competition in 2004 after a 37-year hiatus.
The MC12, known for its success in GT championships, inspired the creation of the MC20 super sports car. The MC20, equipped with the innovative V6 Nettuno engine, launched a new era for Maserati in 2020.
Both the MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda are limited to 20 units each and feature exclusive liveries and content. The MC20 Icona’s Bianco Audace Matte and Blu Stradale livery pays tribute to the 2004 MC12 Stradale and the Maserati Trofeo Light. The MC20 Leggenda sports a Nero Essenza and Digital Mint Matte livery, echoing the award-winning MC12 GT1 from the Vitaphone Racing team.
Notable features of the MC20 Icona include:
– Special Fuoriserie personalisation
– Bianco Audace and Blu Stradale livery
– Silver hubcaps with the blue Trident logo
– Blue brake callipers
– Carbon fibre engine cover
The MC20 Leggenda boasts:
– Nero Lucido trident wheels with Digital Mint hubcaps
– Yellow Trident logos
– Black brake callipers
Both models feature racing interiors with monocoque seats, Sonus faber sound systems, carbon fibre interior packages, and advanced safety systems.
The MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda celebrate Maserati’s golden age on the track, where the MC12 GT1 secured 27 FIA GT Championship victories, including three wins at the 24 Hours of Spa. The MC12 Stradale, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and equipped with a Ferrari-derived V12 engine, remains Maserati’s fastest production car with a top speed of 330 km/h and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.8 seconds.
These special editions symbolize the enduring legacy of Maserati’s commitment to racing excellence, connecting the past triumphs with the future of the brand.
