Jawa Motorcycles are back! Today, the iconic Jawa Motorcycles launched 3 models; Jawa, Jawa 42 and Jawa Perak in India. After 22 years the legendary Jawa came back into market along with the partnership of Mahindra and Mahindra. These bikes look similar to each other. However, each and every bike has different riding style. The Jawa 300 and the Jawa 42 is launched currently and the bobber model will be launched early next year.
About the looks, the Jawa motorcycles look extremely classy and retro. The chrome covered headlamps covering the handlebars looks simple and elegant as well. Every thing is done giving attention to detail making this a modern retro motorcycle.
The classical red with chrome highlights enhances the feel of looking on it. The console of the bike contains a black background analog dials that represent speed and the fuel. The odometer is digitalized to save more space inside the console. The seat and the chain guard add flavors to the old school look.
Though the bike looks retro, the engine is a modernized one. The Jawa motorcycle comes with BS VI 293cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine that pumps out a power of 27bhp and a peak torque of 28Nm priced at Rs. 1.64 lakhs. The telescopic front forks supporting the front and the rear contains double shock absorbers. The Jawa also offers a single channel ABS as standard. It has a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres and it weighs 170kgs. The Jawa 300 and the Jawa 42 has the same power unit priced at Rs. 1.55 lakhs, however the Jawa Perak is powered by a larger 332 cc which churns out 30bhp and 31Nm of torque priced at Rs. 1.89 lakhs.
