I wrote the title as a wholesome family SUV! Yes, it really is. Before diving into how good or bad the Pathfinder is, have you noticed how impressive the new lineup of cars from Nissan is? From the X-Trail to the Patrol or the new 370Z, Nissan is hitting the mark with their products. Be it in terms of quality or modern tech, Nissan is bringing their glory back, and I am truly happy about it.

When it comes to the Pathfinder, this new 2024 model is a whole new generation. It can’t be compared with the old one as it has grown bigger, taller, and wider. It’s a whole new car!

2024 Nissan Pathfinder Design

The previous generation Pathfinder somehow looked softer to me. There wasn’t much of a desirability factor when you saw one on the road. But this 5th Gen Pathfinder is much more desirable. It has grown much bigger and gets a more masculine, proper SUV-ish design. You will simply love the way it looks.

The car is over 5 meters in length and wide and tall enough. The new boxy design adds to the overall appeal, and the top trim, which we are driving, comes loaded with dual-tone paint (black roof), full LED lighting, and 20″ alloys from the exterior design part. The c-shaped LED headlamp unit looks very stylish, and along with the V-motion front grille, the Pathfinder is definitely a head-turner, which it wasn’t earlier. To me, the favorite shade on the Pathfinder is this green one with a blacked-out roof. Trust me, it looks way better in the flesh.

Step inside, and you will enjoy the spacious cabin. The car’s bigger size is evident on the inside with the roominess it offers. The fit and finish, and quality of materials, are top-notch. You get nice and comfy leather seats with seat ventilation. The dual-tone dashboard is neatly done. The 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel looks dope and is nice to hold as well. You get modern touches everywhere; another example is the sleek-looking gear selector.

One thing that could have been better or bigger is the 9″ infotainment screen, which gets all the options through Nissan Connect, but it could have been bigger in size. It is easy to use, and my favorite element is the superb digital instrument cluster. Overall, the interior design is well done with high-quality materials. Moving on to the second row, you get enough space for three adults, and the third row is more suitable for kids or two adults for shorter trips.

With All Three Rows Up, You Get A Very Good Boot Space

In terms of storage spaces, the Pathfinder offers a lot! Trust me, you get 14 bottle holders and so much space in the door pads and under the handrest. You will never run out of space in the Pathfinder, even if the car is full. Another premium touch is that it gets a rearview display with a top-quality camera view rather than the old school mirror. For music enthusiasts, you get the 12-speaker Bose system, which impressed us a lot.

2024 Nissan Pathfinder Engine & Performance

Under the hood, it comes with a 3.5L V6 mated to a 9-speed automatic. Removing the CVT and adding the 9-speed AT is one of the things that makes the Pathfinder superbly engaging to drive. The Pathfinder offers 271 bhp of max power and 341 Nm of torque, meaning you will never run out of power when in need. 0-100 km/h takes around 9 seconds for this mammoth of an SUV, and that’s definitely impressive.

You will feel the size when you drive it, but it’s pretty easy to drive this SUV. You get Pro Pilot, which offers basic ADAS features that are very useful, especially on Dubai roads. You get a nice 360-degree camera that will help you with tight parking spots. In terms of driving comfort, I would give it a 5-star because the suspension is beautifully set, and even on slightly bumpy roads, it is pretty smooth. It comes along with a quiet cabin and a panoramic sunroof. I wouldn’t call this an enthusiastic driving machine; instead, I would call this a wholesome family SUV which is definitely a head-turner.

2024 Nissan Pathfinder: Can We Take It Offroad?

The question is highly important. You get a 4WD setup and offroad drive modes as well. But I wouldn’t call it an offroader. Rather, I would be happy to call this a medium-level offroader. Maybe you can drive across the gravel patches of Hatta, but you definitely can’t take it for dune bashing in the Middle East style because the 178 mm ground clearance and ramp angles aren’t enough. And in the end, you need proper offroad tires as well. It’s definitely not a soft SUV but I wouldn’t dare to call it a hardcore offroader.

2024 Nissan Pathfinder: Will You Buy One?

Me? Definitely yes! The prices start from AED 158,000 for the 2WD variant and go all the way up to AED 213,000. The purpose of the Pathfinder isn’t to take you offroad, but rather to serve as a premium spacious SUV that your family would love, and at times you can do cross-country road trips. It is bloody good!
