The long-awaited Nexa product from Maruti Suzuki – the Ignis – has finally been launched in India at a price of Rs 4.59 lakh for the petrol, and 6.39 lakh(ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Ignis is no disappointment in the design department. It’s cube-ish proportions are perfectly digestible, with some nice detailing to boot – making it rather attractive.

Under the bonnet sits the Baleno’s 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol unit, capable of 82hp and 113Nm of torque, and a 74hp 1.3-litre diesel motor that churns out 190Nm of torque. The mid-spec variants: Delta and Zeta, will be the only ones to offer the AMT gearbox, while the rest get a 5-speed manual. ARAI fuel economy figures are out: 20.89kpl for the petrol and 26.8kpl.

Dual-tone shades for the exterior will be optional along with a few other customisable bits. It will be available in six colours: Uptown Red, Glistening Grey, Urban Blue, Silky Sliver, Arctic White and Tinsel Blue.
