Stuttgart/Dubai, July 2024 – Porsche has extended its all-electric SUV lineup with the introduction of the Macan 4S. Filling the gap between the base Macan and the high-performance Macan Turbo, the new Macan 4S offers a blend of efficiency, power, and advanced technology.

Enhanced Performance and Efficiency

The Macan 4S is equipped with the electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management (ePTM) system, which distributes drive power between the front and rear axles five times faster than conventional all-wheel-drive systems. This ensures optimal performance and handling in various driving conditions.

The Macan 4S features a new rear-axle motor paired with a powerful 600-amp silicon carbide (SiC) pulse inverter. Combined with a front-axle motor, this setup delivers a system output of 330 kW (448 PS), with a short power overboost up to 380 kW (516 PS). The car can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 240 km/h. It offers a combined WLTP range of up to 606 km.

Advanced Suspension and Design

The Macan 4S comes standard with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) electronic damping control. The adaptive air suspension, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), and rear-axle steering enhance the vehicle’s performance and comfort.

The new model maintains the progressive, timeless design of the second-generation Macan, with range-optimized aerodynamics (cw = 0.25). It utilizes an 800-volt architecture, enabling a DC charging capacity of up to 270 kW. The high-voltage battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in approximately 21 minutes at a fast-charging station.

Expanded Model Range

The Macan 4S joins the base Macan, which features a rear-wheel-drive system focused on high efficiency and range. The entry-level Macan uses a 100 kWh battery and a rear-axle motor with an output of 250 kW (340 PS). With Launch Control, it can generate up to 265 kW (360 PS) and 563 Nm of torque, reaching 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and achieving a top speed of 220 km/h. The Macan boasts a combined WLTP range of up to 641 km.

New Features and Customization Options

Porsche has introduced a new exterior color, Slate Grey Neo, and a 20-inch Macan S wheel to the lineup. An off-road design package is also available, improving the Macan’s capabilities on rough terrain and steep inclines. This package increases the approach angle to 17.4 degrees and raises ground clearance by 10 mm.

The off-road package is offered in Vesuvius Grey or the car’s exterior color, with matching 21-inch wheels. Customers can choose from Black, Silver, or Turbonite roof railings, with additional customization options for the front bumper and side blades.

Innovative Driver Experience

The electrification of the Macan introduces a new display and control system, the Porsche Driver Experience. This system combines digital and analogue elements, including a 12.6-inch curved display instrument cluster, a 10.9-inch passenger display, a head-up display with augmented reality, and ambient lighting with a communication light.

Porsche has revamped the screen designs for all Macan models, featuring an emotional welcoming animation, an updated look, and the new Themes app. This app allows users to adjust the background color of the displays and ambient lighting to match the exterior color, with twelve options available.

With the addition of the Macan 4S, Porsche continues to lead in the electric SUV market, offering a blend of high performance, efficiency, and cutting-edge technology.
