Triumph Motorcycles launched its popular performance street motorcycle – the Street Triple RS today. The new Street Triple RS gets a major step up in performance from a significant engine update developed by Triumph’s Moto2TM engine team. It features an all new more aggressive styling, and has been designed to set the new category benchmark for capability and handling, making this the ultimate performance street bike.
- Significant update to the 765cc triple engine, developed by Triumph’s Moto2TM engine team
- Bharat Stage VI (BS6) Compliant
- More peak torque at 79Nm @9350 rpm, plus 9% higher mid-range torque
- 9% more mid-range power, peaking at 123 PS @ 11,750 rpm
- My Triumph connectivity system enables, delivering GoPro interaction
- Lightest bike in class
Evolving from its renowned 675cc triple to an even more exhilarating 765cc in 2017, the Street Triple once again redefined the category, becoming the lightest bike in class, with all new state-of-the-art technology, high specification chassis and Triumph’s signature exceptional standard of finish and detailing.
A major step up in performance – more power, more torque
The 765cc triple engine is developed by Triumph’s expert Moto2TM engine team. The result is a significant increase in torque, which is now 9% higher in the mid-range, peaking at an even higher 79Nm at 9,350rpm. The new exhaust balance pipe smooths the torque curve for exciting, usable torque from low down and across the entire rev range. With all these performance upgrades, the new Street Triple RS is also Bharat Stage VI (BS6) compliant. Power is also up by 9% in the mid-range, peaking at 123PS at 11,750rpm.
There is also a new silencer on the Street Triple RS, which is now freer flowing due to the twin catalyst system.
Much more aggressive attitude, poise and style
The LED headlights are all new and now whiter and brighter. The Daytime Running Lights (DRLs – market applicable) have an all new, even more distinctive design, which also increases visibility. The new fly screen and air intake are now more pronounced, echoing the shape of the new DRL, plus the side panels, rear unit, seat cowl and belly pan are all new and distinctly different.
Available in two different colour schemes: Matt Jet Black with Aluminium Silver and Yellow decals or Silver Ice with Diablo Red and Aluminium Silver decals. Both paint scheme options include hand-painted Diablo Red wheel pinstripes and an Aluminium Silver rear sub-frame.
Even better technology
Gets MyTriumph connectivity system software installed and enabled, ready to be used with the accessory-fit Bluetooth module. This enables GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation and phone and music operation via the ergonomically optimised switch cubes, and displayed on the TFT screen.
The five improved riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Track and Rider configurable) have now been optimised to suit the bike’s higher level of performance, for maximum rider control. These modes adjust throttle response, ABS and traction control settings, and can easily be selected whilst riding. Rain mode restricts power to 100PS for enhanced safety and control.
The new Street Triple RS gets fully adjustable 41mm Showa big piston front forks, with 115mm travel, and fully adjustable Öhlins STX40 piggyback reservoir monoshock rear suspension unit, with 131mm rear wheel travel. For incredible stopping power, the Street Triple RS features high specification Brembo M50 4-piston radial monobloc front calipers and a Brembo ratio and span adjustable brake lever, plus a Brembo sliding rear caliper.
The tyres are Pirelli’s latest generation high performance Diablo Supercorsa SP v3 tyres, delivering race track performance and excellent grip. The pillion seat is now higher than the previous generation, providing improved leg space.
The new Street Triple RS has been priced at INR 11.13 lac ex-showroom pan India.
