Mercedes revealed the 4-door AMG GT coupe at the Geneva Motor Show. This car is the fourth model to be added in the AMG GT series. It is also added that the all new AMG GT coupe is the first 4-door model in the AMG GT series.
The new AMG GT coupe is based on the modified version of the MRA platform that draws inspiration from SLS-AMG. This car is designed to suit both daily practicality and track rides with stunning performance.
The AMG GT shares it’s styling with the other AMG GT models – the Panamericana grille, the low bonnet and those LED headlamps with LED DRLs makes it look eventually stunning and beautiful from any angle. The slope roofline and the active aero makes the car aerodynamically stronger.
The interior of the car is very similar to all-new Mercedes-Benz CLS that was launched in 2017. The cabin of the car is really futuristic with cockpit style centre console and huge LCD displays. The coupe gets two 12.3-inch displays that includes infotainment system and smart phone connectivity.
Mercedes AMG GT 4-door coupe gets its heart powered by a 4-litre v8 bi-turbo engine that makes 639bhp and 900Nm of max torque and it does 0-100kmph in just 3.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 315kmph. The other v8 option which comes with a lesser powered engine which makes 585bhp and 800Nm of max torque, 0-100 in 3.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 310kmph. The V8 engine is mated to MCT 9G 9-speed transmission gear box.
The AMG GT model gets a hybrid powertrain for the first time with a 3-litre 6 cylinder inline engine combined with a 48V electric motor. It makes combined output of 435bhp and 520Nm of max torque, 0-100 comes in 4.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 285 kmph. It is coupled with TCT 9G transmission gear box.
The AMG GT 4-door coupe comes with AMG performance 4MATIC and all-wheel drive option as well to give consistent performance. The all new Mercedes AMG GT 4-door model will hit the roads in 2018 summer. The new model in India is expected to be launched in late 2018 or early 2019.
