Ford has introduced its latest innovation in off-road technology with the new Ford Everest, featuring a state-of-the-art four-wheel-drive (4WD) system designed to enhance on- and off-road performance.

The Ford Everest offers two 4WD systems, including an advanced full-time 4×4 system with an automatic on-demand feature known as 4A (4WD Auto). This system continuously monitors traction and adjusts torque distribution between the front and rear wheels, ensuring optimal performance across various terrains.

The 4A mode is particularly beneficial for challenging conditions, such as snowy mountains or sand dunes, offering a seamless and safe driving experience. The system’s electromechanical transfer case allows for a torque split ranging from 0:100 to 50:50 between the front and rear wheels, with a default setting of 40:60.

Ford’s off-road attribute leader, Tim Postgate, highlighted the ease and safety of using the 4A mode, which ensures the vehicle remains stable and responsive even in the most demanding environments. Additionally, the 4WD system remains engaged when the engine is turned off, providing extra security when parking on slopes.

The new Ford Everest’s advanced 4WD technology underscores Ford’s commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions for adventurers seeking both capability and convenience in their vehicles.
