Renault India has launched what was a concept a year ago that looked the business – the Kwid Climber. What you see right here, is the production-ready version, priced at Rs 4.30 lakh(ex-showroom, Delhi) for the manual, and Rs 4.60 lakh(ex-showroom, Delhi) for the AMT version.
Visually, there are a few differences that set it apart from the standard Kwid – like matte-silver skid plate with orange inserts, plastic cladding around the fog lamps and orange door mirrors and touches of the same to the roofrails as well. However, it’s the new alloy wheels that make it stand out. Not to mention, it also sports a ‘CLIMBER’ sticker on either sides of the front door.
Even inside the cabin, you will find orange accents all over – on the centre console, around the aircon vents and orange stitching on the upholstery as well. Also, the lower spoke of the steering and the front headrests have ‘Climber’ embossed on them.
Under the bonnet lies the same 68hp, 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine and is synced to either an AMT gearbox or a 5-speed manual ‘box.
