Toyota’s futuristic 4th-generation Prius was unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo. Based on its new TNGA platform, it is the first model from Toyota to boast of this new architecture. The sharp and aerodynamic profile hints at Toyota’s no-more-boring-cars design philosophy.
Under the bonnet will sit a 97 bhp 1.8-litre 2ZR-FXE VVT-i, 4-cylinder petrol engine. Aiding the petrol engine will be two electric motors: a 71bhp unit and a 7bhp unit; the former churning out 163Nm of torque, and the latter 55Nm of toque. The engine is synced to a CVT gearbox. A front-wheel drive and all-wheel-drive version should make it to India, with a frugal figure of 40kpl.
On the inside, the Prius features Qi wireless charging, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 4-way adjustable front passenger seats, and what have you!
