Mahindra Racing has announced the third edition of its popular global crowd sourcing design competition called #DrivenByDesign by welcoming its passionate fans ‘Passioneers’. The idea is to design the livery of the Indian outfit’s M4Electro, the race car which is all set to compete in the fourth season of Formula E.
Team Principal Dilbagh Gill said that the enthusiasm of Passioneers during previous #DrivenbyDesign contests has encouraged them to give yet another opportunity to showcase design flair and creativity. In the recently concluded season, Mahindra finished third in the championship and it was the team’s best ever constructor position till date.
It is a shame that Mahindra will be exiting Moto3 at the end of this season as the team plans to concentrate more on Formula E. It is understandable considering that electrified vehicles are need-of-the-hour and the learning on track in the premiere electric racing series can be transferred to road car use one way or the other.
Felix Rosenqvist was the star of the Berlin ePrix when he stood on top of the podium in the first of the two races scheduled for that weekend. It was Mahindra’s first ever victory in the highly competitive series as 2017 saw the team notching up ten podiums, three pole positions and two fastest laps. The M3Electro, responsible for all the glory, was designed as part of the inaugural #DrivenByDesign contest.
It came as a result of 281 entries from 41 countries last year with Spain’s Adria Haro Jorba being declared as the winner. Moreover, the livery was also voted by fans as the winner of the #FELiveryWorldCup in an online poll conducted by Formula E on Twitter.
With high goals set, the squad is preparing for the fourth season that kicks off in Hong Kong this December. To participate in the #DrivenByDesign contest, visit: drivenbydesign.mahindrafe.com. From there, you are just three steps away from winning the chance to spend a day with the Chief Designer of the iconic Pininfarina design studio (part of the Mahindra Group) in Turin, Italy.
All you have to do is just download the kit and design the livery of M4Electro race car and upload it back onto the microsite. The contest closes on September 18 at 10:00 UTC and is open to racing fans of all ages across the world. Entrants can submit as many designs as they want with the winning design becoming the livery of the M4Electro race car for Season 4.
