ŠKODA AUTO India crosses the 10,000-bookings mark with the KUSHAQ

ŠKODA AUTO India has achieved the milestone of 10,000 bookings for the KUSHAQ. The mid-sized SUV has bolstered the growth for ŠKODA. Witnessing an overwhelming demand for the KUSHAQ, ŠKODA will be equipping the automatic STYLE variants with 6 airbags (both 1.0L and 1.5L) and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) at an incremental cost of approximately INR 40,000.


Kushaq is a car that has been specially developed for the Indian market – ŠKODA has entered the subcontinent’s rapidly growing mid-size SUV segment.


Based on the highly versatile MQB-A0-IN vehicle architecture, Kushaq is 4,225 mm long, 1,760 mm wide and has a height of 1,612 mm. Its wheelbase of 2,651 mm is amongst the longest in the segment – and a minimum laden ground clearance of 155 mm.


Kushaq features a central, free-standing infotainment touchscreen and the two-spoke multifunction steering wheel.


Kushaq offers up to 26.2 litres of interior storage space in total along with a boot capacity of 385 litres that can be increased to 1,405 litres by folding down the rear seats.


From Ambition onwards, the ambient lighting illuminates the dashboard and door handles, while the door handles, handbrake locking button and air vents are chrome- plated and the gearstick knob is upholstered in leather.


The Style variant includes front ventilated black leather seats upholstered in perforated grey design, and black leatherette armrests on the centre console and the doors.




Engine Options:


Comes with a three-cylinder 1.0 TSI produces an output of 85 kW (115 PS). Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox or a new-generation 6-speed automatic transmission.


The four-cylinder 1.5 TSI engine develops 110 kW (150 PS) which is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox or can be coupled with a 7-speed DSG. This engine also features the segment first active cylinder technology (ACT).


ŠKODA KUSHAQ features first in segment, Electronic Stability Control as standard, along with Roll over Protection and Multi Collision Braking (MKB).


Also gets features like Hill-Hold Control and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Kushaq gets up to six airbags, while all five seats feature three-point seat belts and height-adjustable headrests. ISOFIX and top-tether anchor ensure the greatest possible safety for the vehicle’s youngest passengers.


The vehicle also comes with parking sensors as standard while ambition onwards also get rear view camera with static guide lines. The vehicle also comes equipped with brake assist features like ABS (Anti-Lock Braking), EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution), along with varied segment first features like EDS with XDS & XDS + (Electronic differential lock – advanced differential lock), HBV (Hydraulic brake-boosting), BSW (Brake disc wiping) that enhances the safety.
