Porsche have launched the all-new 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster in India, at a price of Rs 81.63 lakh and Rs 85.53 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Styling changes include a massively altered front-end, with new headlamps and a cleaner looking bumper. At the rear too, you’ll notice a sportier bumper and clear-lens tail lamps. The exhaust is all-new too.
Sitting pretty in the middle of both cars is a 300hp 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine, replacing the naturally-aspirated, flat-six engines that did wonders in the old Cayman and Boxster. Linked to the new engine is a 7-speed automatic PDK transmission with power being sent to the rear wheels, making the cars hit 0-100kph in just 4.7 seconds. Opt for the Sport Chrono package, and you can be sure of a top speed of 275kph.
Also new is a tweaked steering system, with Porsche’s Active Suspension Management that can be had as an option. You will also find an all-new infotainment unit in the well-executed cockpit. The numbers ‘718’ are an instant reminder of the race car from 1957.
