Forget everything you know about naked motorcycles. The Vitpilen 401 is a fresh and simple new approach within the world of motorcycling. Bajaj Auto is going to bring the Husqvarna brand of motorcycles in 2019 in the country with the launch of the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401.

The Vitipilen 401 carries a simple, yet progressive design approach. Designers have focused on simplicity and stripped of all that is unnecessary. Powering the Vitpilen 401 is the same engine that we have seen on the KTM 390 Duke. This 373.3cc motor produces 44.1PS of power and 37Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed gearbox. However, we expect them to be tuned differently to complement their cafe racer and scrambler traits. The bike will be made at the Bajaj Auto plant in Chakan where the Duke 390 is also made.

Bajaj also has the Dominar 400, which has an engine based on the KTMs, but is offered at a lower price point. However, the Husqvarna brand will be positioned as a premium brand than the KTM and will hence be priced higher. Expect to see a price difference of at least Rs 30-40,000 over the orange counterparts. With a price closer to the INR 3 lakh mark, the Huskies will compete with the BMW G 310 R, recently launched by BMW Motorrad India.
