LG Electronics introduced a slimmer top-of-the-line phone with advanced new camera and voice-activation features in South Korea. The LG V30 offers a 6-inch screen is shorter and narrower than its previous flagship phone, the G6 and is claimed to be the lightest smartphone with a six-inch or bigger screen.

The phone has a 13 megapixel wide-angle camera up front mainly for selfies and a 16-megapixel camera at the back. The rear camera has an f/1.6 glass camera lens which is the widest aperture lens of any major smartphone.

Due to the bigger aperture, the pictures will be a lot clearer. LG fell to number eight ranked smartphone supplier in 2016 from third and is trying to get back the lost ground. Meanwhile, Apple is expected to introduce its new iPhone 8 range very soon while Samsung has unveiled several major new phone models, including the Galaxy S8 and the Note 8, this year.

The LG V30 offers ‘cinematic mode’ for making movie-quality videos that renders 5 preset options including romantic comedy, summer blockbuster, mystery, thriller and classic movie effects. It is equipped with Google Assistant and Voice Recognition as well.

The V30 will be made available in South Korea from 21st September before entering North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The standard model has 64 gigabytes built-in memory while the LG V30+ has 128 gigabytes of storage.
