BMW Group Middle East together with its local importer AGMC welcomed Karim Habib, Head of BMW Design, to reveal the all-new BMW 7 Series on the first day of the Dubai International Motor Show 2015, which is currently taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre. His attendance highlighted the importance of the Middle East market to BMW Group worldwide and the innovative design-led nature of the models on display at the BMW stand this year.

The key highlight of the BMW display at this year’s show is the all-new BMW 7 Series which comprises innovative and luxurious design and technology features both inside and out. The BMW Group’s Middle East importers began delivering the sixth generation of BMW’s flagship model, which had its world premiere at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, to its discerning customers across the region on the 24th October.

Stand-out features of the all-new 7 Series include the new intuitive Touch Command 7-inch tablet which offers rear seat passengers a completely new experience in controlling multiple comfort and entertainment functions. A unique Gesture Control function also gives both driver and passengers the option to adjust the volume or answer the phone with a simple hand gesture, while the all-new BMW 7 Series’ Sky Lounge, a panoramic glass sunroof roof, gives passengers a clear view of the sky in the day and at night. A Welcome Light Carpet further highlights the range of new features as it illuminates the area in front of the car doors, creating an elegantly hospitable impression.

Combining state-of-the-art comfort with dynamic agility and styling, the latest instalment of the sophisticated sedan is available in three luxury packages: Pure Excellence, M-Sport and Individual Design. Making an exclusive appearance at the BMW stand at the Dubai Motor Show, the uniquely designed Solitaire edition wowed media and other guests during the BMW press conference on the first day of the exhibition. The most expensive 7 Series ever built for the Middle East boasts luxurious design elements, from black piano lack trim to one carat diamond accents.

A leader in the world of automotive design, Karim Habib is responsible for both the exterior and interior design of all BMW cars which will showcase at the show. Born in Beirut and raised in Canada, Habib has enjoyed a life-long passion for cars which sparked a desire to design and sketch cars from a young age. His career with the BMW Group spans more than one and a half decade, taking him from exterior and interior designer through to Team Leader of Advanced Design and Head of Exterior Design before taking over his current role in 2012.During the design process for the all-new BMW 7 Series he worked with the idea of ‘Precision and Poetry’ – the feeling of a perfect interaction between progressive technology and its translation into design.

Commenting on the launch of the all-new 7 Series, Mr Habib said: “This car is our interpretation of contemporary luxury. We consider technical innovation and an uncompromising attention to detail to be paramount when we design a new vehicle, and the all-new BMW 7 Series is the epitome of these attributes. Presenting the car here at the Dubai Motor Show is a truly great experience, seeing as the Middle East represents the third largest market worldwide for our flagship model.”

Another key highlight of BMW’s 17-car line-up at the Motor Show is the new BMW X1.

The second generation of the successful X1 model, takes to the stage with a body design straight out of the BMW X model mould. The interior of the new BMW X1, meanwhile, offers significantly more space for passengers and luggage, a cutting-edge premium ambience and functionality grounded in solid engineering.

The Dubai International Motor Show is taking place from 10th to 14th November at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The show, which is held every two years, is the largest and most popular automotive event in the Middle East, hosting more than 500 companies each year.
