Red Bull Racing’s Team Principal Christian Horner says that Max Verstappen should be thinking over the benefits of his long term future with the Milton Keynes based team in Formula One as he has the capacity to build a team around him.

The Dutchman has been rumoured to have links with both Ferrari and Mercedes for opportunity beyond next year but Horner believes that instead od joining Sebastian Vettel who was a four time champion with Red Bull, he will be provided with a similar kind of opportunity.

He stated that Verstappen feels comfortable in the team and acknowledged his achievements for being the youngest grand prix winner, youngest double winner and youngest points scorer. With Lewis well settled at Mercedes and Seb extended his contract for three more years; Max will have to stick with Red Bull as his best choice.

Horner is sure that Verstappen will gain from enduring a character building 2017 season that has seen him retire seven times in 16 races. He reckons that without the mechanical issues and the early lap incidents, he would be sitting third in the world championship rather than sixth.
