Two-time F1 champion has completed 113 laps for the Toyota World Endurance Championship team at an exclusive test in Bahrain following the season closure with a six-hour race. Alex Wurz, a double time Le Mans winner, said the Spaniard is one of the best race drivers out there and he had adapted quickly to the unique driving style.

Alonso is all set to race at Le Mans for Toyota next year and did a best lap time that was less than seven tenths of the regular driver Mike Conway. Wurz worked closely with Alonso as he tested at the Bahrain International Circuit and he said to have supported very good and structured feedback during the day.

He also commented that it was impossible to compare his performance with other Toyota drivers on the same day as each were running different programs and the track temperatures was different too to have a big influence on the race time and how quick they can go around the track.

Fernando Alonso will also be racing at the 2018 Daytona 24 Hours in US as well for United Autosports. His Le Mans deal has not been officially yet but reports are that he has already agreed to take the plunge by racing with Toyota. He might do some WEC races too along with F1 commitments with McLaren who openly said he is free to compete in any series.

Earlier this year, Alonso competed at Indy 500 and led the race for total 27 laps before his Honda engine faltered with just 24 laps to go.
