Emflux, a startup from Bengaluru, has taken the 2018 Auto Expo by storm with a brand new electric superbike. The entire team of the small company comprises of 25 engineers, designers and people from various fields. The electric motorcycle ‘ONE’ can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in under 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 170 kmph with a range of 200 km on single charge.
The claimed time taken to charge from nil to 80 percent is less than 36 minutes from a DC fast charge station. It is designed with aggression of a sportsbike along with its performance while being able to give out all the range that can be extracted from a typical electric bike – best of both worlds maybe!
Every component of the motorcycle was designed and engineered in-house and the electric drivetrain includes the battery pack, the BMS, an on-board charger, the motor controller, and the motor which runs by a powerful master controller with powerful neural networks.
Only 199 units of the Emflux ONE will be produced while another 300 is for the global market. The standard version is priced at Rs 6 lakh OTR and with performance upgrades like Ohlins suspension, forged alloy wheels and ultralight carbon fiber panels, the price goes to Rs. 11 lakh OTR for top-spec version. Delivery will commence from first quarter of 2019.
