Triumph has added another feather to its cap by launching its retro-styled Bonneville T100, here in India at a price of Rs 7.78 lakh(ex-showroom).
The T100 looks very identical to the T120, with the signature fuel tank, wire-spoked wheels and the chrome-finished ‘peashooter’ exhaust pipes. It also features a USB charging port under the seat, switchable ABS, a torque-assist clutch and an engine immobiliser. Adding further to the classic appeal of the bike is the twin-pod instrument cluster that consists of the speedometer, tachometer, range to empty, fuel level and average indicator, along with indicators for the gear positioning and and service.
Nestled neatly into the frame is a beautiful 54bhp 900cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor with fuel injection, linked to a 5-speed gearbox. Triumph states that it also delivers better power and torque, compared to the bike it replaces, thanks in part to its lighter kerb weight of 213kgs, as opposed to the older bike’s 224kgs.
