BMW has launched a sporty-looking yet practical version of the 5-Series called the 520d M Sport. The car is being locally assembled at the Chennai plant, and will be sold solely as a diesel variant, across the country.

The new ‘M Dynamics’ package includes air inlets, side-skirts, dark chrome exhaust tips, a dark shadow metallic diffuser, and beefy 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the 520d M Sport features an M Multifunction steering wheel, electrically-adjustable sports front seats finished in Dakota leather. Also found on the interiors is an aluminium hexagon trim strip with BMW individual headliner Anthracite.

Under the bonnet lies a 2.0-litre, turbo-charged, 4-cylinder common-rail diesel motor that makes 190hp and a mahoosive 400Nm of torque. Synced to the engine is an 8-speed Steptronic auto transmission. It also gets a host of BMW EfficientDynamics technologies that include Auto Start-Stop, brake-ennergy regeneration and ECO PRO modes.

The company claims that the new sedan will sprint from 0-100 in just 7.7 seconds, being able to reach a top speed of 233kph. You will be able to buy it in three new colours: Apline White, Carbon Black or Mediterranean Blue.
