Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility (AFEM) and BYD have announced a major partnership with Udrive, the UAE’s leading on-demand car-sharing platform, to accelerate the country’s shift toward cleaner transportation.

As part of the agreement, Udrive has already deployed 150 BYD hybrid vehicles—100 Song Plus SUVs and 50 Qin Plus sedans—into its fleet, with plans to expand to 500 units within the next year. The collaboration supports the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategic Initiative and strengthens Udrive’s position as one of the region’s largest shared mobility operators, with a fleet exceeding 1,700 cars.

Facilitated through Hertz B2B Leasing, the partnership integrates BYD’s advanced New Energy Vehicle technology into Udrive’s offerings, providing users with more efficient, eco-friendly travel options.

Udrive Founder Hasib Khan highlighted growing customer demand for smart and sustainable mobility, noting that BYD’s hybrid systems align perfectly with modern urban needs. AFEM Managing Director Lucas Bellieud emphasized that the collaboration marks a significant step toward making hybrid and electric mobility more accessible across the UAE.

Hertz B2B Leasing General Manager Sebastian Picon added that the company is proud to support Udrive’s transition toward an all-electric future through innovative leasing solutions.

The agreement was formalized at a signing ceremony attended by senior leaders from Udrive, Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility, and Hertz.
