Mahindra Racing has had its best season since joining the Formula E championship in 2017. They wrapped up with a second place finish in Montreal ePrix.  After finishing the first race in tenth position, Swedish driver, Felix Rosenqvist, took the podium after a steady recovery despite taking pole position.

Along with his points tally and Nick Heidfeld’s, the Indian constructor ended up the season third overall in the team’s title race. The German, Heidfeld, endured a tough first race as he was involvd in an accident with Loic Duval while running 11th.

With plenty of work overnight to fix the car, Mahindra recovered and had managed to put both of its drivers in the Super Pole shootout for the final race of the season. While Heidfeld took a stunning fourth place on the grild, Rosenqvist went a notch better and claimed pole position.  The former did finish fifth in the second race.

Felix Rosenqvist also completed third in the drivers’ championship with a total of five podiums behind eventual champion Lucas di Grassi and Sebastien Buemi. Amidst having five podiums to his name as well, Heidfeld could not finish as high as Rosenqvist but was pretty happy with the outcome of the season for the team.

With new challengers like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz joining the fray in the near future, Mahindra already has a good platform laid out to prove its brilliance in the world stage in the coming seasons.
