Mercedes-Benz launches C 300 and S 500 Cabriolets in India

Mercedes-benz have now taken the top off the S-Class Coupe and C-Class, making them proper wind-in-the-hair propositions for the Indian market.

C 300 Cabriolet

On the outside, the C 300 Cabrio looks identical to its sedan sibling, but walk to rear and it immediately appears as a miniature S-Class Cabrio, which we will come to later.


Features include Agility Control Suspension with selective damping and Mercedes PreSafe safety system, a 13-speaker Burmester audio system, dual-zone climate control, Garmin Navigation System. The fabric roof can be had in different shades, with the option of an acoustic soft-top.


Under the bonnet, the C 300 sports a 245hp 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine. Mated to the engine is a 9-speed auto ‘box that comes with the option of Dynamic Select, that allows you to switch between five gearbox modes.


The C 300 can be yours for Rs 60 lakh(ex-showroom, Delhi).


S500 Cabriolet

The S 500 Cabrio is the other new drop-top offering from Mercedes-Benz. While it is based on its limo sibling, the S500 Cabrio’s looks share no exterior similarities whatsoever.


Features like active park assist, massage function for the front seats, thermotronic automatic climate control, a 23-speaker Burmester audio system, a 360-degree camera and airmatic suspension are among the host of goodies available.


It is powered by a 442hp 4.7-litre, twin-turbo V8 that churns out 700Nm of torque – all of which is transferred to the rear wheels.


Both soft-tops have roofs that can pop is just 20 seconds. You can also have your S 500 Cabrio customised to your taste, thanks to its Designio customisation platform. The S 500 can be yours at Rs 2.25 crores(ex-showroom, Delhi).
