Mercedes Benz launched the new generation G63 now in India. The 2018 model will be available only in AMG version at a sticker price of Rs. 2.19 crore.

 

The latest update comes with continually enhanced technically over the era of G-class, hardly changing its visuals. The new model is 121 mm wider and 53 mm longer than its previous model. The G63 packs a 4-litre V8 biturbo engine which pumps out 585 bhp and a supermassive peak torque of 850 Nm. 0-100kmph comes in 4.5 seconds. The power is delivered to all the four wheels through AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission with specific software application to achieve very short shift times.

 

G63 is still built on a high-strength ladder-type frame with increased torsional rigidity and still maintaining the SUV 65 kgs lighter. The AMG G 63 provides 3 options for differential lock as elder models. With adaptive adjustable damping, the AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension set-up makes it more capable off-road while it remains dynamic and comfortable on the road.


For the first time in the history of the Mercedes-AMG G-Class, the driving characteristics can be individualised at the touch of a finger with five on-road and three off-road driving modes. With the five DYNAMIC SELECT on-road modes “Slippery”, “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Sport+” and “Individual”, the characteristics range from efficient and comfortable to very sporty. Three off-road modes – “Sand”, “Trail” and “Rock” – are available when driving off the beaten track.

 

The G-wagon gets red calipers with flared up wheel arches. The tell-tale side exhausts add up to its look. Other highlights include the circular DRLs and the Panamericana grille. The 22-inch wheels gives a supercool look as well as purpose. The new AMG G 63 is highly customisable with renowned ‘designo’ platform.
