After a long, long wait, Jeep has launched its three highly-anticipated models in India, with prices, features and specifications revealed as well.

The classic Wrangler will be sold as the ‘Unlimited’, five-door variant – and is powered by a 200hp, 2.8-litre diesel motor. It gets 4-wheel-drive as standard, and comes equipped with a 5-speed automatic gearbox. A 6.5-inch U-connect infotainment system is part of the features list as well.

Jeep’s Grand Cherokee – on the other hand – will be a proper SUV, taking on the likes of the BMW X5, Volvo’s XC90 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE. Sold in ‘Limited’ and ‘Summit’ versions, it will employ a 240hp, 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine synced to an 8-speed auto ‘box.

The SRT will serve as their high-performance offering in India with a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 petrol unit that makes 475hp and is mated to an 8-speed auto ‘box, active damping suspension and Brembo brakes. Quadratrack 2 4-whel-drive system will be offered on all three models as well.

For those of you looking for a more affordable Jeep, a 13-20 lakh rupee SUV will be sold sometime next year, with Fiat’s Multijet 1.6-litre diesel engine under the hood. The ‘C-SUV’ will roll out from the Ranjangaon production facility.

At the moment, Jeep India will deliver vehicles only from two dealerships in the country, one in Ahmedabad and the other in Delhi, with other major cities following later. Due to being CBU imports, prices are a bit steep, but Jeep loyalists are sure to give it a thought. Also, petrol engined variants are to follow later this year.

Jeep model price list(ex-showroom, Delhi):

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 2.8 CRD: 71.59 lakh
Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit: 1.03 crore
Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited: 93.64 lakh
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT: 1.12 crore
