Jeep Compass launched in India at Rs 14.95 lakh

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has finally launched the much-awaited Jeep Compass in India, at a starting price of Rs 14.95 lakh for the Sport variant (ex-showroom, Delhi), and Rs 20.65 lakh for the Limited (O).


The Compass’ butch appeal and strong heritage are among some its strongest selling points. It is sold with two engine options: a 173hp, 2.0-litre Multijet ll turbo engine that is synced to a 6-speed manual and a 162hp, 1.4-litre Multiair petrol, available with both: a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch auto gearbox. The top-end Limited variants gets four-wheel drive and Jeep’s Selec-Terrain traction system. Features include a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, an electronic parking brake and dual-zone climate control.


The SUV will be sold in three petrol variants and five diesel variants – all of which come with 3-year/1 lakh kms warranty. With 50 dealers nationwide, Jeep will have to be able to deliver as per the demand – until of course, they expand their dealership network.


Jeep’s Compass also happens to be the brand’s third entrant, but the only locally-assembled product in the country, after the imported Grand Cherokee and Wrangler.
