All you need to know about the Tata Tiago & Tigor JTP

What is it?

The first performance models from Tata Motors. Jeyam Automotive is a well-known name in the Indian racing industry for prepping up race cars for a long time. The association of Tata and JTP is also not new though. With the launch of Tata Tigor and Tiago JTP, Tata Motors offers affordable performance commute cars targeting the young and vibrant customers.

Engine

The Tiago and Tigor JTPs are powered by the same 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is offered in the Nexon. The engine is tuned to deliver 114 PS of peak power and 150 Nm of peak torque. The intake and exhaust systems get performance enhancements and the five-speed manual gearbox comes with a different set of gear ratios. The JTP models are capable of doing 0-100 kmph in 10 seconds as per Tata Motors’ claim. The 1.2 litre three cylinder engine is more refined now and it gets the benefits from turbocharging and retuning.

Styling

Tata had done some bit of premium styling such as improving its dynamics and its aesthetic appeal. Tiago and Tigor JTP gets a glossy black front grille with JTP batching, hood vent, rear diffuser with twin-pipe exhausts and new bumpers of course. The models also get a dual projector headlamps with chrome finishing, the diamond cut alloy wheels are outstanding. Also with the new side skirts, rear spoilers along with the black roof, the car looks stunning.

Interiors

The sporty look continues to the interiors too. Both the models gets black interiors with red highlighting in the dash, gear shifter and seating as well. The Tiago and Tigor JTP gets an 8 speaker setup with the infotainment system. Both the models get two airbags and ABS as standard. You can find a lot of JTP badges in the inside as well.

Price

Tata Motors launched the performance oriented Tiago and Tigor JTP in India at a price tag of Rs. 6.39 lac and Rs. 7.49 lac.
